Dan McAvoy introducing his '7 series' anniversary beer - Humble Pie

Salford Brewery SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO is launching a limited-edition wheat beer “HUMBLE PIE” as part of its SEVENTH birthday celebrations.

Joining Kit McAvoy’s newly released ‘Peanut Butter on a Jaffa Cake’ Stout and Nathan’s red IPA ‘Depth Charge’; brother number four, Dan, is challenging with his own ‘7 Series’ craft tipple.

The celebration series will see each of the seven brothers launch their own unique beer to mark the July anniversary. Each beer will explore the interests, personalities, and quirks of the seven McAvoy brothers as they toast this landmark birthday.

Collaborating with the brewing team, Dan McAvoy has crafted a pear, blackberry and nettle wheat beer inspired by walks in the countryside with his family and a love of foraging for herbs and fruit.

This summery treat of a beer is 7% ABV and available in a 440ml can from the SEVEN BRO7HERS web shop for £5 – the perfect pint while soaking up the heatwave this weekend.

To make the celebration series extra special, the brewery has also collaborated with local artist Alexandra Francis to design the artwork for the cans – visually telling the story of each brother and their beer.

Speaking about his nettle wheat beer, brewery engineer, Dan McAvoy, said: “There is nothing like getting out into nature, I wanted to create a beer that felt like a breath of countryside air.

“I have worked with the brewery team to include humble ingredients including berries from wild hedgerows and nettles, to make a beer that reminded me of country walks with my two children. They used to collect pockets full of blackberries and bring them home to make pear and blackberry pie.”

For each beer within the 7 Series, 7% of the profits will go to a charity that is personal to each brother, Dan’s chosen charity is Lyme Disease UK. The funds will support the positive and proactive work they both do, in raising awareness and undertaking much needed research into Lyme Disease.

He added: “I can highly recommend a slice of pear and blackberry pie the flavours work so well together – or in this case a pint!”

SEVEN BRO7HERS BREWING CO was founded in 2014 by McAvoy brothers, Guy, Keith, Luke, Daniel, Nathan, Kit, and Greg, inspired by their dad’s home-brewing in their cellar at home.

In 2016 the brothers opened their first beer house in Ancoats, Manchester. They now have a newly refurbished, onsite taproom at the brewery in Salford and a beer house at Middlewood Locks, Manchester. Last month they opened their doors to a brand new beer house in the heart of MediaCityUK.

SEVEN BRO7HERS beers are available online.
