Ben Sztejka - Your Ecommerce Accountant

Your Ecommerce Accountant was founded by Ben Sztejka, a chartered accountant who saw a gap in the market for a dedicated accountant for ecommerce businesses.

Ecommerce businesses are simply those that sell goods and services over the internet, which is now comprising a much larger sector of the UK retail sector. This shift to online retail has accelerated due to the pandemic, with many new online startups as well as traditional ‘bricks and mortar’ businesses looking to shift to online selling due to forced closure of physical premises during lockdowns.

With the growth of ecommerce businesses accelerating, the time was right for Ben to switch the focus of the firm – previously called Your Cloud Accountant – to ecommerce businesses. The business has also recently relocated to Wellington in the South West from London, taking advantage of the rise of remote working for their employees.

The firm focuses primarily on ecommerce businesses on marketplaces such as Amazon and eBay as well as ecommerce platforms such as Shopify and Magento. Their diverse client base makes up a huge spread of business types from sole traders running dropshipping businesses right through to large limited corporations who have pivoted to focus on an ecommerce business model.

By working closely with ecommerce businesses every day, Ben and his team are able to understand their unique needs including cloud accountancy integration; VAT requirements; and advice on automation for bookkeeping and everyday accountancy tasks. Ben and his team also provide free business advice included with all their contracts, helping their clients navigate the finances and unique challenges of building an ecommerce business.

Thanks to the growth seen within their existing client base and new client wins, Your Ecommerce Accountant have been able to add three new employees to their workforce.

Ben said of the recent changes with the business:

“We are seeing sustained growth in the ecommerce sector in terms of new startups and existing businesses switching to an online model. Whilst the business world is changing, accountancy needs to change with it – which is where our offering comes in.”

“We are delighted to see sustained growth in the last 12 months and to be able to relocate to the South West. The ability for our employees to work remotely has also allowed us to be able to recruit three excellent new members of staff to support the team, with two more hires planned for the next six months.”

“Our goal is to become the go-to accountancy firm for ecommerce businesses in the UK, using our expertise to not only help with bookkeeping and accountants but also advise on business growth and international expansion.”

“Having recently relocated to the South West, we are also looking to connect more with local businesses in order to help with online expansion.”
