Award-winning recruitment firm, Encore Personnel, has celebrated the momentous achievements of its 200 plus staff over the last 12 months – many of whom are key workers – during its annual awards ceremony, which this year took place virtually.

Committed to maintaining the business’s long-standing tradition of holding an annual ceremony to shine the spotlight on the hard work and passion of its team, Encore’s Directors arranged an online event where they handed out trophies in 12 categories including Outstanding Leadership and Outstanding Client Service, to teams and team members who had gone above and beyond in 2020.

Given the extremely demanding conditions of the past year, Managing Director at Encore Pete Taylor who has been with the business for 15 years said he and the other Directors were ‘beyond proud’ of the way their teams had risen to the challenges the pandemic had created.

He said: “Our annual awards ceremony has long been a milestone date in the diary, as we give hearty business-wide recognition to the success of our staff in front of their colleagues. This year we had to flex the format from our usual setting of Birmingham town hall, for obvious reasons, and secured the facilities of a TV studio and film crew to make sure the event still had the kudos of previous years, albeit from afar. Myself and some of the other Directors took to the stage to address the whole business and hand out the awards, while our staff joined the event online.

“It really was a celebration of the pure determination, creativity, dedication and perseverance of our people. We were thrilled to announce a record turnover for the business, increasing year on year to now stand at £77m, which is down to the commitment of our dedicated and talented staff.

“The last year has been one for the history books for everyone, particularly key workers. Some of our staff have worked on site all the way through the pandemic. We’ve sourced staff for supermarket delivery teams, essential produce ecommerce clients, hand sanitizer brands and a COVID-19 testing business, demonstrating how vital a role the recruitment sector has played in keeping the country moving, fed and protected during the pandemic.

“We are beyond proud of our staff for all they have achieved this year and despite having to celebrate their achievements from afar this time, we kept to Encore’s established tradition – it was our 19thceremony this year – of praising and rewarding those who have gone the extra mile for our business.

“As Encore continues to flourish and grow year on year, it’s more important than ever before that we reward, nurture and invest in our staff as they are the beating heart of what we do day in, day out. We’re committed to developing and growing talent from within and it is such a delight to see our shining stars rewarded for their achievements each year – as I said in my presentation to the business, our mantra is ‘your future, your wellbeing, our priority’.”

Winners at this year’s awards included Neil Cook who won the Outstanding Leadership award, Adam Manning and Natalie Dawson who won the Outstanding Contribution to the Business award, Sam Taylor who won the Future is Bright award and Tara O’Reilly who won the Outstanding Client Service award.

Encore has a ten branch network throughout the Midlands, as well as numerous managed service operations across the UK. It is about to launch a new Driving Division in Nottingham. The business prides itself on its exceptional client service and putting the customer experience at the centre of all strategy and development with a mantra of ‘your business, your culture, our priority.’
