When Bellway acquired land on Walshaw Road in Bury for a residential development, the housebuilder was keen to establish links in the local community.  With The Bury Black Pudding Company celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, they were the natural choice for Bellway to form a partnership with.

Build is well underway at Bridleway Grange, and there are now two stunning show homes to view at the development, which is just a short drive from the black pudding factory at the J2 Business Park on Bridgehall Lane.

In the kitchen of one of the show homes there is a bespoke wall display dedicated to The Bury Black Pudding Company and the world famous Bury Market, which was recently voted Britain’s Favourite Market, created by interior designer Alex Egan from Sanza Style.

Bellway also purchased a large quantity of ’30 Best Loved Recipes’ book from the award-winning company to give to buyers at Bridleway Grange as a ‘moving in’ gift, which works really well as many of the buyers have come from Manchester city centre looking for a more rural setting.

Grace Yarlett, Head of Sales at Bellway, says: “We are thrilled to be working with The Bury Black Pudding Company in what is their 20th year in business. They are well established in the area and I am sure buyers at Bridleway Grange will enjoy trying the recipes from the book and will visit Bury Market to purchase products on a regular basis.”

Matthew McDermid, Brand & Marketing Manager at The Bury Black Pudding Company, adds: “2022 is a special year for the business as we mark our 20 year milestone, although our black pudding recipe has been in existence for over 100 years!

“From humble beginnings with a stall at Bury Market, to the launch of a website and a contract with Adsa, which started regionally and grew to a national level, followed by commitment from other supermarkets, the company has enjoyed exceptional growth and success over the last 20 years.

“The dedication and hard work of all the staff at the factory is testament to what can be achieved, with Bury synonymous with the best black pudding in the country, world even, and The Bury Black Pudding Company offering the highest quality.”

The Bury Black Pudding Company has one of the longest established stalls at Bury Market and remains committed to the town.  To celebrate its 20th anniversary, the company is hosting several events throughout the year, raising money for Bury Hospice.
