With a new ‘ice-cream’ themed showhome at Bellway’s Copperfields development, on Dickens Lane in Poynton, the housebuilder wanted the opening event to be a real community affair.

Local children Ollie and Amelia Carroll were enlisted by Bellway to officially unlock the showhome doors.  The duo (Ollie aged 10 and Amelia aged 8) duly obliged and were Bellway VIPs for the day.

Registered charity Just Ice Poynton were also on hand at Copperfields to provide delicious ice creams to all visitors to the new showhome, with Ollie and Amelia, who have both been diagnosed with Batten disease, enjoying the first ice cream cones.

Hollie Reynolds, Sales Director at Bellway Manchester, comments: “The new showhome at Copperfields boasts a stunning interior design and has been dressed immaculately.  With an ice cream theme décor internally, it was only natural that we served ice creams to guests at the opening event.  Just Ice Poynton is a unique, local charity manned by volunteers who utilise all profits to pay the wages of modern slavery survivors whom they employ and train; they were the perfect choice.

“And of course we needed some local children to join in the fun, so who better to officially open the showhome than Ollie and Amelia.  It really was a community event.”

Mike Carroll, Ollie and Amelia’s dad, added: “We only live around the corner so when Bellway made contact to invite Ollie and Amelia to open the showhome we jumped at the chance.  Ollie and Amelia had a lovely time and loved the ice creams from Just Ice Poynton!”

There are now three inspiring showhomes open at Copperfields, each showcasing the design, style, space and specification of the superb three and four bedroom homes available.
