New Scottish micro investment firm CAM Ventures have today announced their purchase of a Brechin site, which will be transformed into the Angus Grill & Larder. Hoping to open in early November, the family-friendly dining concept will occupy the building previously operating as the Bonnybreich Coffee Bothy and will champion food and drink producers from throughout the Tay and Angus regions.

Of the purchase, Managing Director Will Macpherson has said: ‘the chance to create a dining destination within the region is something we’ve been focused on for a while now. The location, on one of Scotland’s main trunk roads, means that we can serve both locals and visitors to the area, and we’re excited about the plans we have in place for the development.

The Coffee Bothy has been a much-loved part of the local community, and we’re looking to continue that legacy. CAM Ventures was founded on the principle of post-pandemic ethical investment, and we see the Angus Grill and Larder being central to that.’

Macpherson is currently recruiting an ambitious Chef Manager for the Angus Grill & Larder, with a number of supplementary roles to be created in the coming weeks.

Opening in November, initially as a café concept, the next 12 months will see the site expand to include electric vehicle charging facilities, a children’s play area and include a space for dogs to exercise.

The project is the first bricks and mortar development for the firm, which was established earlier this year, and follows their investment in new Scottish ready to drink cocktail brand Angel’s Share.
