Managing Director of Arfon Consulting Ltd Alun Williams

A Welsh consultancy has been recognised as a top company in the prestigious Chartered Institute of Highways and Transportation rankings.

Arfon Consulting Ltd has been ranked among the Top Companies for Public Private Partnership [PPP] and Design, Build, Finance and Operate [DBFO] category by the institute.

Managing Director of the Cardiff-based company Alun Williams said: “I was really chuffed to see Arfon’s name up there with multinationals like Atkins and Pell Frischmann. These are companies that employ staff by the thousand and Arfon is a micro business.

“This goes to show that you can throw as many people as you like at a project but its success and failure alike hinge on knowledge, communication and execution.

“With fewer links in Arfon’s role in a project’s chain the focus is intimate and the buck ultimately stops with myself.”

Alun has worked with a range of public bodies on high-profile programmes including Dowlais to Hirwaun section of the IJGlobal award-winning A465 project for the Welsh Government.

The project will provide £400 million of direct spend in the Welsh economy and guarantees community benefit initiatives with a minimum investment of £10 million.

Alun added: “I’m looking forward to working on more infrastructure projects like this in the coming year and seeing Arfon Consulting’s name much further up the rankings.”
