CBRE has further strengthened its market leading real estate capital markets advisory team in Manchester with the appointment of Giovanni Pilla as Associate Director. Giovanni joins from Cushman & Wakefield, where he was an Associate. This latest appointment follows the recent strategic hire of Associate Director Mike Pochin from Knight Frank.

Giovanni spent more than 6 years at Cushman & Wakefield focusing on residential investment and the Build to Rent sector providing brokerage and advisory services across the North West region. Giovanni has advised on a number of key residential investment transactions including the Royal George Village scheme in Stockport town centre and Merchant’s Wharf, a 196-apartment project in Salford.

In CBRE’s nine strong Manchester Capital Markets team, Giovanni will be working closely with Colin Thomasson and Tom Sinclair who lead CBRE’s residential investment activity across the North of England.

CBRE is a market leading residential investment advisor in the North West having executed over £500m of Build to Rent residential transactions across the region in the last 2 years.

The CBRE team in Manchester is now working closely with housebuilders in the suburban markets and sees huge opportunity for growth in the Single-Family housing (SFH) sector, having sold the UK’s largest stabilised SFH portfolio – Project Thistle – to Goldman Sachs for £150M in January and subsequently acquiring the Wise Homes SFH portfolio for £74M in June.

Tom Sinclair, CBRE Director, commented;

“Giovanni is widely regarded as a rising star in the investment market, having developed a wealth of knowledge and an exceptional understanding of the Build to Rent sector. His knowledge and experience will ensure that we are able to continue to deliver exceptional results for our clients across the North of England.”
