Liverpool based energy & construction specialist Ecogee has completed work on its 12,000th property of the year, making it the busiest one to date in its decade long history.

During the past twelve months, the 60-strong team, which has headquarters in Aintree, has completed an extensive list of projects right across the region, working in partnership with Sefton Council, SSE and OVO, Scottish Power and Prima Housing to name a few.

As part of the impressive total, Ecogee was able to deliver 5,633 energy saving measures across Liverpool and the North West as part of its Energy Companies Obligation (ECO).

The company’s four main pillars of their work are energy saving measures and grants, social housing, external wall insulation and new build properties and since January, Ecogee has constructed a total of 21 new build homes ranging from two-bedroom apartments to three-bedroom homes.

Managing Director Brendan Helm said: “This year we have really established ourselves as one of the North West’s leading energy and construction firms. From completing our work on the award-winning Baltic View and working with Prima Housing on 5,565 separate jobs; this year has truly gone from strength to strength.

“Reflecting on the numbers of what our brilliant team has achieved during a confusing and frustrating time, has filled me with pride and excitement for the year ahead.”

With an eye on the future, the firm has announced its commitment to reduce their carbon footprint by 20% over the next five years and reach carbon neutral by 2040 in line with the Liverpool City Region goal.

The climate crisis took centre stage in 2021 as the pressing need to develop green measures became more apparent and Ecogee’s expertise has them setting the standard for the energy and construction industry.

Brendan added: “We established in 2012 in response to the launch of the Government’s Energy Efficiency Programme and we continue to provide energy saving solutions to households in the UK to tackle the country’s fuel poverty crisis; so far, it has been making huge inroads. Our place in the energy saving sector is really gathering traction and we are quickly becoming the energy company of choice for local authorities.

“We recently announced our partnership with Sefton Council as their official contractor to deliver energy saving measures for households across the borough. We’ve really utilised our expertise and knowledge to expand our business offerings to clients while still applying energy saving solutions.”

It’s been a great end to the year for the team at Ecogee as they were also shortlisted in this year’s INCA Awards, established by the Insulated Render and Cladding Association; for their work on Baltic View, which was one of Liverpool’s first construction sites to resume once Covid restrictions were lifted.
