Leading consumer law firm Simpson Millar has confirmed that its annual charity ball will go ahead this year, with all proceeds raised going to the Child Brain Injury Trust, Mesothelioma UK, and the Seashell Trust.

Working in partnership with main sponsors Premex+, a leading provider of independent medical reports, the A Million Dreams Charity Ball will welcome guests to The Edwardian Manchester hotel on Thursday 9th September for an evening of entertainment including live music and an auction.

This is the second charity ball hosted by the firm, which in 2019 raised £19k in funds that were donated to Headway and the Child Brain Injury Trust (CBIT); both of which provide practical support, information, and learning opportunities for families and professionals affected by brain injuries across the UK.

Speaking of the upcoming event Ian Cohen, Simpson Millar’s Director of Injury, said: “We are delighted to announce that our charity ball will go ahead this year, and to be able to raise funds for the Child Brain Injury Trust, Mesothelioma UK and the Seashell Trust.

“These are three causes that we’re really passionate about supporting because we work with clients who benefit from the services these charities offer every day.”

Child Brain Injury Trust provides a dedicated service to children and families affected by childhood acquired brain injury right across the UK.
This includes practical and emotional support for families, information and learning opportunities for families and professionals interested in finding out more about childhood brain injury, and how to support children with an acquired brain injury so they can live their best life.

Mesothelioma UK provides specialist information, support and education about mesothelioma – an asbestos-related cancer. The charity is also passionate about improving care and treatment for mesothelioma patients and their carers across the UK.

They work closely with the NHS to make sure that patients are getting the specialist services they need.

Seashell Trust delivers education, care and support to children and young people with complex needs and communication challenges. They’re dedicated to making schools, colleges and residential care homes a ‘creative, happy and secure environment’ for those they support.

The programmes they deliver aim to encourage independence and build the confidence and self-esteem of the children and young people they work with.

Ian Cohen added: “The majority of tickets have now sold, which is incredible, we do still have a handful of tables still available. If anyone is interested in coming along to show their support can get additional information on our Eventbrite page.”
