Home Bargains has invested approximately £1 million in its new store in Quedgeley, which will be officially opened at 8.00 am on Saturday 3rd April 2021.

As one of the UK’s largest family-run retailers, Home Bargains is creating 54 new jobs in the local community with its store on Quedgeley Retail Park. In total, the store will employ 64 team members, including some staff and management who will be transferring from local stores.

It will also be donating £2,000 to the local charity Gloucestershire Bundles, which provides emergency packs of toiletries, clothing and equipment to pregnant women and families, with children up to the age of 16, who find themselves in crisis situations.

Stacey Brayshaw and Dawn Dolphin, trustees at Gloucestershire Bundles, said: “We are honoured to be a chosen charity for Home Bargains in Quedgeley. The very kind donation of £2,000 will enable us to purchase items that we cannot accept as preloved such as mattresses, toiletries and nappies as well as items that aren’t often donated to us such as baby monitors, electric sterilisers and stair gates. We want to say a huge thank you to the Home Bargains team for this thoughtful gesture.”

The new Quedgeley store will join over 500 outlets across the UK. Opening approximately 50 stores a year, Home Bargains is bucking current trends in the industry.

James Prosser, store manager at Home Bargains Quedgeley, said: “It’s a huge honour to be opening our new Quedgeley store this weekend and something that I’m exceptionally proud of.

“Having worked for Home Bargains for over two years, and in the retail sector generally for several years, this is certainly a special moment and one I’ll cherish for the rest of my career.”

The 19,763 sq ft store, which formally housed Next and Brantano Footwear, will offer shoppers a range of products, including homewares, health and beauty essentials, sweets, snacks and drinks, as well as fresh and frozen food.

James added: “Quedgeley Retail Park will be a great location for us and we’re proud to be able to offer local people top-branded goods at exceptionally low prices.”

With more than five million customers each week, Home Bargains is one of the country’s best-loved discount retailers, stocking top-quality branded goods at low prices.
