Managing Director of Adlington Retirement Living, Dr Ed Gladman, Mark Menzies MP and Site Manager Wayne Green

Last week, Mark Menzies MP visited the construction site for The Sidings, a brand-new retirement community, on Wharf Street in the Lytham.

The MP donned a hard hat and high viz jacket to help lay a brick and view plans for the 65  age-exclusive apartments with Managing Director of Adlington Retirement Living, Dr Ed Gladman and Site Manager Wayne Green.

Mr Menzies said: “It was a pleasure to visit the construction site of The Sidings and meet the team. I know how important it is that people are able to maintain their independence into retirement. Developments like this allow them to do that while living in the heart of our community.

“I look forward to returning and meeting new homeowners when the project is completed.”

Dr Ed Gladman added: “We enjoyed welcoming Mr Menzies to the site of our latest retirement community. Adlington’s vision is to empower our older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with active communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes, providing an opportunity to enjoy retirement to the full.”

The Sidings, an Adlington Retirement Living community specially designed for those over the age of 55, is currently under construction and taking off-plan reservations.

A range of one, two and three-bedroom apartments will include quality fitted kitchens with integrated appliances, many will feature en-suite shower rooms and separate bathrooms and most will have walk-out balconies or a patio area overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens.

The communal facilities will include a hairdressing salon, therapy room, activities studio, and a guest suite, equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite, for visiting friends and family.

The 24-hour on-site support team will provide homeowners with added peace of mind and, if needed, optional tailored care packages. In addition to this, there will be a sophisticated emergency call system and a security video entry system to manage access.

Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
