Uplands Communications has cut the ribbon on a new office in Somerset to support the strong local economy and assist businesses with nationwide shifts in how companies operate and manage their staff.

The multi-award-winning communications businesses, which was set up 40 years ago in Swansea, now has a sister office in Bruton, with plans to broaden its customer base further.

Managing Director of Uplands Communications, Paul Hooper, says: “This part of Somerset is home to me, and I have seen it enjoy a thriving economy with great potential for growing businesses. Links to London and Bristol are strong, Bruton itself really punches above its weight especially in retail, hospitality and business communities which are very strong despite the difficult times we have seen in recent years due to the pandemic. I feel this part of the UK is unique in its robustness and its ability to emerge well from economic storms. Uplands is well-placed to cater to businesses that are having to remodel the way they manage their workforces and their communications due to the pandemic and the rise of home-working. The needs of our clients have shifted greatly in recent years and they rely upon us to deliver seamless telephony, cloud-based services, fast and reliable mobile provision and access to high-functioning communicate tools that can be accessed remotely by their teams. This has seen us meeting extra, exciting demands and challenges and we are pleased to expand our operations into Somerset. We fully expect the growth of Uplands Communications to continue into 2022 and beyond.”

Uplands Communications is a leading managed services company delivering flexible voice, data and mobile communications.  The firm specialises in independent network management and providing bespoke, converged solutions that aren’t tied to technology and supplier.
