Planet Mark's Zero-Carbon 'Battle Bus'

Planet Mark’s ‘carbon battle bus’ has arrived into Stockport. The 100% electric bus is touring the UK to spread the net zero message with Stockport being one of over 30 stops in cities and towns as it travels to COP26 in Glasgow. After the Stockport stop, the battle bus is headed to Salford and Burnley before making its way to the North-East.

Planet Mark Founder and CEO Steve Malkin says: “The tour is intended to empower British firms and their employees to become part of a greater national effort to protect our environment by demystifying what is needed to achieve net zero.”

The bus will be parked outside The Light Cinema in Stockport until after the One+All Sustainability in Action Summit (8.30am-2pm on 6 October 2021), which is Stockport’s first Summit of its kind. Organised by B Corp schoolwear manufacturer One+All in partnership with Marketing Stockport, the Summit involves climate leaders from across the region, including heads of business, Stockport Council, Transport for Greater Manchester and Planet Mark.

The half-day Summit is a rallying cry to the region’s business leaders to join the Race To Zero, through powerful real-life case studies and insights which highlight the commercial and social benefits of sustainable business practices. Planet Mark’s team will also be demonstrating how businesses can set their own credible carbon reduction targets and implement plans to achieve them in line with the Race to Zero’s rigorous minimum criteria.

Steve Malkin says, “Sustainability events such as the One+All Sustainability In Action Summit are vital for bringing businesses together in our fight to reduce carbon emissions. This Summit, together with the other Planet Mark events taking place up and down the country, are providing the tools and insights needed to help businesses meet net zero carbon targets by 2050.”

The Tour is funded by the UK Government’s Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy and in partnership with the UN-backed Race to Zero. It is being delivered alongside Local Authorities and other organisations across the country.

The One+All Sustainability In Action Summit is free to attend and runs from 8.30am until 1.30pm on 6 October 2021. Places are limited and can be reserved through Helen White at Marketing Stockport.
