With the Summer break about to be in full-swing, it’s a demanding time for most families who have children. Six weeks of thinking of ways to entertain can be quite a challenge, let alone working and having daily tasks to complete too.
Nobody understands the juggle of both work and having a young family more than Slink UK founder, Sarah Elston. Being a working parent to two young active children, Sarah wanted to create an initiative that would benefit and stimulate both children and parents this Summer.
“After so long stuck juggling childcare, home-schooling and working from home, we wanted to create a refreshing experience for parents who just need that extra bit of time. Whether it be an overdue catch up with friends, the deadline for a dissertation or just some general admin for work. Our work and play sessions will give the gift of time, all the while knowing children will be entertained with crafts, games, character appearances and exercise”, explained Sarah. The Slink UK team have extensive experience entertaining children from pre-school through to high-school. They are also one of the regions most respected staffing solutions companies, and the go-to provider for clients such as Elite Kids Coaching and Featherstone Rovers Community Foundation, when looking for professional, motivated and engaging coaching staff for young people.
In what has been a year like no other, the work and play sessions are being hosted within Skelton Lake Services, and will come with a great deal of gratitude to families. Sarah said; “Children have been so responsive to everything that has been thrown at them this year, so instead of letting them occupy themselves at home again, why not bring them for a few hours of being inspired by new activities, new people and to make some new memories this Summer.”
“Skelton is a gorgeous setting for a walk, a run or just a catch up. Exercise and socialising is so beneficial for mental health and wellbeing, which is something we all have to look after, especially after the last 18 months. So if you struggle to find time to fit in that all important ‘me time’, we can help by entertaining the kids for a few hours whilst you recharge.”
The sessions will run from 9:30am until 12pm with a special guest character arriving to entertain the children by 11am.
Skelton Lake services is a motorway service area situated on the M1 motorway near Leeds, West Yorkshire. It is located on Junction 45 of the Motorway, which also links into the A63.
Work and play sessions launch August 2021 and are sure to lift the spirits to many families in Yorkshire this Summer.
