Branding and design agency Studio LWD has won a competitive pitch to develop the visual identity for Wimbledon Guild.

Established in 1907, Wimbledon Guild is a community charity offering practical help and support to people in the London Borough of Merton. Initiatives and activities are aimed at helping people stay independent and supported in their mental health, emotional and financial wellbeing.

Specific activities include classes and clubs, talking therapy, befriending programmes, bereavement support, digital inclusion and financial help.

Poulton-le-Fylde-based Studio LWD has been commissioned by the charity to develop its visual identity with a particular focus on ensuring accessibility for the community it supports.

Wimbledon Guild Head of Communications and Fundraising Mark Williams said: “Whether you’re worried about money, you’re feeling low or overwhelmed, or you’re looking for new friends and activities locally, we’re always here. Wimbledon Guild is more than just a place, we’re a real community where everyone belongs.

“Over the past 18 months we have been developing our tone of voice and now we are ready to look at the next stage of our brand project which is developing our visual identity, with a particular focus on ensuring that we are as accessible as possible to the community we support.

“We were particularly impressed by Studio LWD’s experience in the charity sector and their understanding of our needs and challenges and are looking forward to working with them on the brand development project.”

Founded in 2012 by creative director Laura Weldon, Studio LWD is a ten-strong multi-service brand-building agency with experience working with some of the world’s most iconic brands including Virgin, Nike, Tesco, Aldi and the British Council.
