(L-R) Tom Elliston, Ailsa McCarrick and Laura Brooker from the Linnaeus finance team with their prize at the West Midlands Finance Awards

The finance team at Linnaeus, one of the UK’s leading veterinary groups, is celebrating after winning an award for its work in supporting business growth.

After being shortlisted across six of the 12 categories at the West Midlands Finance Awards – more than any other entrant – Linnaeus won the Finance Transformation & Change award. FP&A Management Accountant Tom Lloyd was also highly commended in the Rising Star category.

Held on 26 May in Birmingham, the annual awards ceremony recognises the outstanding achievements and dedication of finance professionals and businesses across the region. As well as a written submission, the Linnaeus finance team also took part in a panel interview for each award category.

The Finance Transformation & Change award recognised several team achievements from the past three years. This included supporting the successful integration of acquisitions into Linnaeus; improving its payroll and reconciliation processes; improved reporting of management and statutory financials; and a programme of site level controls to advise the group’s veterinary practices.

“This recognition from our peers demonstrates the quality and talent of this team, the value of their hard work and the excellent results they have all achieved.”

Based at Linnaeus’s Solihull office, the group’s finance team supports more than 60 veterinary primary care practices and referral hospitals across the UK and Ireland, employing over 5,000 Associates.
