The Rolling Mill

This year’s most hotly anticipated independent restaurant in Birmingham, The Rolling Mill, has announced it will be opening its doors from Friday 26th November. Having already given the city a taste of what’s in store with its exclusive delivery menu available via Deliveroo last month, the JQ bar and restaurant will be dishing up a fresh take on European flavours and classics with a vintage twist.

Brought to the city by Sunny and Sonu – the local restauranteur brothers behind the much-loved Hen and Chickens – the 7,857 sq. ft. space has undergone a six-figure refurbishment to transform it into a spacious dining experience. Open seven days a week, customers will be able to enjoy a variety of dishes ranging from £7-27: with brunch through to Sunday lunch on the menu, there’s something to suit every occasion.

Commenting on the first phase of its launch, The Rolling Mill co-owner Sunny Rull says:

“We’re seriously thrilled to be moving forwards with our first phase of launch this week! From hearty breakfast dishes to flavourful main courses, we’re confident that we have something to suit everyone’s tastes and dietary requirements on this menu.

“We’ve been overwhelmed by the response to our takeout offering so far, and are so excited to be welcoming our first bookings this weekend.”

With Executive Chef, Sukh Aujla heading up its culinary offering – whose experience saw him train under Gary Rhodes, before leading the kitchens of both CAU and The Bower House – the restaurant’s menu features both local and seasonal ingredients to craft hearty meals of the highest quality. Joining Sukh at the helm of the new venue will be Pierre Meunier as General Manager, and both are set to bring a wealth of experience and character to the venue.

Speaking ahead of the launch, Sukh comments:

“When working on what The Rolling Mill’s signature taste was going to be, we all agreed that we wanted to serve the finest food, but without the ego. Food is all about experience and we’re so proud of what we have created: we can’t wait for Birmingham to try it this weekend.”

With its final stages of the build scheduled for completion on December 16th, the venue is set to boast ample indoor and outdoor space and a total of 280 covers, which includes a covered courtyard, a heated mezzanine rooftop, two bars, and a private internal terrace.

“We are so excited to finally be bringing our vibrant, expertly-crafted food to life in the West Midlands. I know I speak on behalf of the entire team when I say that we can’t wait to open our doors this Friday!” co-founder Sonu Rull added.
