Lisa West has been shortlisted in the Stars of Social Care Awards

A care home in Knutsford is celebrating after being announced as a finalist for a prestigious award.

Care UK’s Cranford Grange, on Hall Lane, has been shortlisted in the Stars of Social Care Awards 2024.

The awards shine a light on brilliance in social care, paying tribute to the workforce, who through dedication and a commitment to care, go above and beyond to support those who are most vulnerable.

After winning over the judges with her leadership skills and her clear understanding of best practice techniques, Lisa, Reminiscence Coordinator, is in the running for the ‘Dementia Specialist Award’.

Lisa demonstrated she has a clear understanding of best practice techniques so residents can live fulfilling lives.

Joining Cranford Grange back in 2016, Lisa has made excellent relationships with the residents and their family members. She continues to go above and beyond in her current role organising exciting events and activities including arranging a local ballet school to perform Swan Lake for a resident who used to be a ballet examiner.

Commenting on her success, Lisa said: “I am extremely honoured and hope this award brings awareness to how dementia is a unique condition. I am humbled to be recognised among the many talented dementia specialists, but this award is not just for me it is a whole team approach promoting a meaningful lifestyle and enhancing all residents’ wellbeing to live a long and enriching life.”

The winners will be announced at the awards ceremony on 15th June.

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Cranford Grange, which remains open to potential residents, incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The home has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
