Graham Baylis, of Serendipity Marketing, who has launched The Collective to beat the Google update

Hereford online marketing specialist Graham Baylis has launched a new group, to help businesses stay visible in the face of a major Google update.

Through his company Serendipity Online Marketing, Graham works with businesses to increase traffic to their websites from Google, and convert more visitors into customers, through his expertise in search engine optimisation (or SEO).

But he was inspired to create the new marketing group – called The Collective – in response to an update by Google, which could see websites’ rankings plummet.

He believes the ‘Search Generative Experience’ update could be the most far reaching ever.

“SEO has always been about optimising a website so that Google likes what it sees, thus giving it higher rankings,” said Graham.

“But the thing is, what Google likes is changing and now goes beyond conventional SEO practices, requiring other specialists like video producers and social media marketers. Businesses which don’t prepare for the changes could lose traffic, or an opportunity to steal a march on their competitors.”

Through The Collective, Graham has brought together leading marketers, covering areas including content writing, social media management, branding, email marketing, photography and videography.

The specialists are based across the UK, but collaborate to support businesses, depending on the need. Many work closely with Graham, whose own services are centred on increasing website traffic from Google. This includes keyword research, competition research, AdWords, and both on-site and off-site optimisation.

Graham added: “It’s essential now to look at the entire picture. Is the brand strong enough? Is the business using the best marketing channels? Could the level of conversion be improved? The Collective brings together trusted experts, who will help businesses meet the challenge of the new Google update and keep their websites performing.”
