CENE award winners 2023

The Constructing Excellence North East Awards 2023, saw outstanding projects, organisations and individuals rewarded, as the region’s-built environment celebrated in style at the Grand Hotel, Gosforth Park.

The Day Treatment Centre, The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, won two awards including Integration and Collaborative Working and the award for Value.

The project highlighted the extraordinary commitment and collaborative approach taken to construct a building that enhances people’s lives.

P+HS Architects, Robertson Construction, CAD21, Gen North, Portland Consulting and DPP Planning worked on the project.

The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals also won Client of the Year.

Dogger Bank Wind Farm won the Net Zero and Sustainability Awards. Led by DB Operational Base Ltd, Equinor New Energy Ltd, Bowmer+Kirkland, Ryder Architecture, Fairhurst and CBRE, this project has been designed to achieve net zero carbon in both construction and in operation, as defined by the UK Green Building Council Framework.

The sustainability target was at the heart of both the design and construction decisions.

Low Carbon Materials was awarded highly commended in the sustainability category.

Headline sponsor at the awards evening was CDM Recruitment. Category sponsors included DAC Beachcroft, Faithful+Gould, GSS Architecture, H Malone & Sons, Northumbrian Water Group, Notify Technologies, Silverstone Building Consultancy, Ward Hadaway. Turner & Townsend was drinks reception sponsor.

The chosen charity on the night was Launchpad, supporting homeless veterans, with over £3,400 raised.
