Melling Primary pupils with chromebooks donated by Bellway

Award-winning housebuilder Bellway has purchased two brand new chromebooks for Melling Primary School, located on Wheeler Drive, to be used by pupils during term time.

Following many months of lockdown Bellway wanted to help enhance the school’s IT provision, allowing more children access to technology in class.

With limited funding, Melling Primary School was delighted with Bellway’s kind donation and Mr Fawcett, Computing Subject Lead (pictured with the children) immediately started to research the most suitable chromebooks.

With a wish list of much needed IT items, Louise Jones, Assistant Headteacher at Melling Primary School, says: “It was lovely to hear from Bellway and we are thrilled with their kind donation of two chromebooks.  Ultimately, we want to have a class set of chromebooks for the children to use to assist with their learning.”

Jenny Bell, Sales Director at Bellway North West, adds: “We are all aware of the importance of education and the integral part IT plays within it.  With many months of education lost due to the various lockdowns, we wanted to help schools across the North West that are located close to our developments with items that would aid and assist the pupils.

“When we spoke to Louise she highlighted the need for additional IT items within the school, so we were delighted to purchase the chromebooks.  We know they will be well used and a real benefit to many pupils.”

Louise concludes: “The support of local businesses is very much appreciated by the school and we want to thank Bellway for getting in touch during what was a very challenging time.  It is wonderful to be able to begin to build up a class set of chromebooks; they are already proving to be very beneficial.”

Bellway currently has several developments across the North West, including Rainbow Fields on Waddicar Lane in Melling.
