Cloud Gateway

Cloud Gateway, a provider of flexible networking and security services, today announces that it has surpassed 100 customers and is well on its way to supporting 150 organisations with its Secure Access Secure Edge (SASE) platform.

Cloud Gateway created the UK’s first SASE platform just over six years ago, to provide organisations with an alternative way to securely connect their clouds, data centres, sites and users. Since then, it has helped organisations at the heart of the private and the public sector to resiliently transform their networks and keep pace with change.

Cloud Gateway’s customers span financial services, government, healthcare and blue light services. Its highly agile SASE platform reduces complexity, supporting the Department for Environmental Food & Rural Affairs, HM Courts and Tribunal Service (HMCTS), Avon and Somerset Police and one of the UK’s largest insurance companies, to utilise flexible network and security solutions, without compromising performance.

The company’s very first customer was the Ministry of Justice. David Fielding at HMCTS, explains: ”Cloud Gateway has provided us with a very reliable and stable service. Their pre-engagement work for additional products and services is excellent; always ensuring open discussions around our actual needs to make sure that we get the right products in place for our modernisation journey.”

Today, the market for SASE is growing and Gartner suggests that more than 50 percent of organisations will have a SASE adoption strategy in place by 2025. More recently, Cloud Gateway partnered with Excelerate Technology who specialise in providing connectivity to emergency vehicles and mobile command centres. Cloud Gateway will provide secure access to the Health and Social Care Network (HSCN), which enables seamless real time data transfer between the devices on board the ambulance to the clinical leads at alternative locations.

Joel Johnson, Technical Manager at Excelerate Technology, explains: “We are excited to be a part of this first-of-its-kind project exploring resilient connectivity for the cloud-based, blue light services of the future. Being on Cloud Gateway’s platform means that the foundations have been laid to enable future interoperability across blue light service. Shared goals and values are the foundation of any successful relationship. We chose to partner with Cloud Gateway because of their extensive experience working with the police and other blue light sectors. Cloud Gateway’s reputation as a trusted HSCN network provider and their ability to rapidly deliver secure, scalable connectivity has been crucial to this project.”

For Cloud Gateway, this customer milestone coincides with a period of high growth. In the last three years the company has increased its headcount by 81 percent across its hubs in London, The North and East Anglia, with future plans to support its team to grow alongside its customer base.

Justin Day, co-founder and CEO of Cloud Gateway concludes: “Cloud Gateway was launched to do networks differently and move away from the expensive lock-in contracts and poor service that is still prevalent in the telecommunications sector today.

Through secure connectivity, our approach helps organisations to build the digital foundations they need. The demand for our cloud-build platform demonstrates that customers want flexibility and choice when it comes to reaching their goals – what they don’t want is to be weighed down by the technical and commercial bottlenecks that stifle transformation.

The Cloud Gateway board has made the strategic decision to invest in the blue light sector because we care passionately about making a difference by transforming citizen lives and the wider public sector for the better.”
