Football For Change has announced Brantones as its Charity Champion of the Year for the work it does to support the social mobility initiative.

Brantones is an affordable, caring and supported living developer which delivers housing solutions for the people who need them most. The business became a supporter of Football For Change in 2022 and has gone on to become a headline sponsor for events including the annual fundraising lunch and the upcoming 2024 gala event, which takes place later this year.

Football For Change was launched in 2021 by Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jamie Carragher and Connor Coady. The initiative has also received backing from Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham as well as other football stars including Gary Neville, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Peter Crouch, Beth Mead and Lionel Messi.

The initiative brings together sports and business leaders to help NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people find education and employment opportunities, as well as helping others from underprivileged communities achieve their full potential. The organisation also supports young people who may have been affected by crime to help turn their lives around.

The 2024 fundraising lunch, hosted at Liverpool’s iconic Royal Liver Building, saw Alexander-Arnold and Carragher team up for an exclusive ‘in conversation with’, where the two discussed Alexander-Arnold’s trophy-laden career and his potential future in football.

The event also featured a star-studded auction including incredible meet-and-greet prizes from the likes of Alexander-Arnold himself, Jack Grealish and Alan Carr, as well as behind-the-scenes tours at Sky Sports and Formula 1.

Over £1.1 million has been raised since 2021 and in 2023, the initiative released over £150,000 in grants to organisations and charities across the country including the Liverpool FC Foundation, Everton in the Community and Dame Kelly Holmes Trust.

Brantones director Lee Birkett said: “This is an incredible initiative for an extremely important cause and we are thrilled to be named as the official Charity Champion of the Year.

“The work Football For Change does will have a profound impact on the lives of so many vulnerable children and young people across the UK and we are proud to be able to do our bit and support this cause.”
