Sharon Luca-Chatha from The Luca Foundation with the ActionCOACH Warwick team at the BizX Awards

From Banbury to Warwick and Kenilworth to Coventry there are 2,602 registered charities1. Over the course of the last financial year, UK Charities’ cumulative income was £88 billion, with their expenditure totalling £85 billion2. With so many charities to choose as a member of the public, it is important for non-profit organisations to operate like any smart business to ensure they maximise the returns on their efforts.

Since 2020, business growth coaches Kevin Riley, Kath Cleary and Hana Smiddy from ActionCOACH Warwick have gifted their expertise to one local charity each year. Warwickshire Young Carers, Shine a Light and The Luca Foundation have all benefited over the last few years. Now they are searching for their next charity to partner with.

Action Coach Kath Cleary will be taking the lead on working with the next charity partner, ‘’We want to support the amazing work they do by gifting our expertise. This is why I’m calling for local charities to get in touch. Business coaching is essential to help you to become more effective when it comes to financial management, marketing, operational processes and bringing people in your teams together.’’

ActionCOACH Warwick’s partnership with The Luca Foundation proved fruitful for founder Sharon Luca-Chatha, ‘’Hana began coaching us in April 2022. She has supported me by putting systems in place around marketing, fundraising and finance, enabling us to continue to build on the important work we are doing across the UK. Thanks to the coaching support, we’ve been able to reach 16 new hospitals across the UK and repaired 26 CuddleCots in the last 12 months and have solid goals to make a bigger impact over the next three years. In fact, our progress was such that we were shortlisted at the EMEA business awards, BizX, for Not-for-Profit Business of the Year 2023!’’

Unlocking the potential of a charity is central to the ActionCOACH Warwick’s mission explained Kath, ‘’We’re looking for someone who wants to take their charity to the next level. There are many ways you can operate a charity to increase your fundraising capability, it doesn’t just have to be by raising more money – you can look at working smarter too.

‘’Just as we coach business owners to improve profits, systems and teams, we look at those same areas for non-profit organisations. This will be about developing as an individual and leader as your charity grows so you can get the best outcomes for yourself, your team and the people you support.’’

If you are a charity leader or know of an organisation who may be interested in applying in the Banbury, Coventry, Leamington and Warwick areas, please complete the form by the submission deadline on 24 August 2023*.
