Members of the JMG Group team as they prepare to take the three peak challenge in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice.

Seventeen employees from Guiseley-headquartered insurance brokers JMG Group will soon don their walking boots to take part in the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge in support of Martin House Children’s Hospice.

On 8 June, the team will tackle the three major Yorkshire peaks of Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough – a 24-mile circular route with ascents up to 5200ft. They aim to raise funds to support the essential services provided by JMG Group’s charity partner, Martin House Children’s Hospice, which provides vital care and support to children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and support for their families.

Mike Johnson, claims director at JMG Group company JM Glendinning Insurance Brokers, will lead the team of walkers. Mike says: “This is a daunting challenge and one we expect will push our team to the limits but it’s all for the most humbling of causes and our team is looking forward to getting involved. The work that Martin House does is truly inspiring and we’re very proud of our team for taking on this challenge to support them.”

As a charity partner, JMG Group has committed to back THE BUILD, a £21.9m project that will transform the hospice at Boston Spa, creating a purpose-built space with new and improved facilities. The three peaks challenge is one of several fundraising activities that JMG Group colleagues pledge to take part in this year, as well as promoting an internal payroll giving scheme.

Charlotte Harper, partnerships development manager at Martin House says: “It is inspiring to see so much support from the team at JMG Group. Martin House relies on this kind of fundraising to help us raise the money we need, so we can keep on providing vital care to babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions. Thank you so much.”
