A glossy green and very keen new recruit in the form of 13.5 tonne flatbed trailer ‘Little Ed’ has been welcomed to the team at Wednesfield-based Edward Howell Galvanizers to help ease the transport challenges currently faced by many of their local customers.

The plant, which boasts a dual bath, has been serving customers across the Midlands for many years, however transporting steel is frequently a challenge for local businesses and something they wanted to address. Little Ed passed the recruitment process with flying colours and has now joined the team to lend a wheel.

Whether it’s a time issue for customers or simply a lack of access to transport vehicles – Little Ed is now on hand to collect steel from customers around Walsall and Wolverhampton, and deliver it back to them safely once galvanized.

When asked about his new role, Little Ed said: “I’m passionate about serving customers both big and small throughout the Black Country, after all – I’m local ay I.

I’m keen to help deliver the same high-quality service that customers have come to expect from Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd, and I look forward to meeting customers on their own sites very soon.”

Edward Howell Galvanizers Ltd is part of Wedge Group Galvanizing Ltd, the largest hot-dip galvanizing organisation in the UK with a history dating back over 150 years. With 14 plants strategically placed across the country, the firm offers a truly national galvanizing service.
