Local housebuilder, Barratt Homes North East, has issued a final call to prospective buyers looking to secure one of the last homes available at its popular South Fields development in Morpeth.

Located just a few minutes drive from Morpeth town centre, South Fields has seen huge success since it originally launched in March 2015. Now with just 14 properties left, including two Show Homes, the housebuilder is encouraging those who are considering the move to the development to enquire now and secure their new home in Morpeth before it’s too late.

Since its launch nine years ago, South Fields has made huge financial contributions to the local Morpeth area. This included £233,700 as part of the S106 agreement, which was split between £198,000 dedicated to improving education facilities within the area, and £35,700 to improving local GP facilities.

Throughout its lifespan, the development has also regularly supported the local area through charitable donations. Recent activity includes the donation of hi-visibility vests to the pupils at Stobhillgate First School last winter, so that they could be seen and safe when walking to and from school, during school trips and the school’s cycling programme.

The development also acted as the finishing line for Barratt North East’s charity cycle in support of Team Evie, a charity dedicated to helping sick children and their families within the area. The cycle saw employees cover a 100-mile distance and the housebuilder raised over £27,300 in total.

South Fields was also one of the donation stations during the festive period to Changing Lives, a charity that supports people who are facing some of the most challenging circumstances including homelessness, addiction, exploitation and abuse. As a result of the public’s generosity across the region, the housebuilder collected the largest charitable donations that the charity had received that year, and raised over £10,600.

With the last remaining three and four bedroom properties available, South Fields is ideal for young professionals who are looking to step on or up the property ladder, as well as growing families in need of extra space.

To offer a helping hand for interested buyers, Barratt Homes offers different schemes for customers to take advantage of. This includes:

One customer who recently relocated from New York and purchased at South Fields, Alexia Benz-Gardner, shares her thoughts on living at the development: “We are loving our new life in Morpeth. South Fields is located near to Morpeth train station, which makes it handy for our commute, and we also enjoy going for a drink in the local pubs and the nearby walks in Carlisle Park.
