Dudley South MP Mike Wood, left, with Brendan O'Dea, Julie-Ann Cooper and Andrea Hopkins of Plum Ideas

Leading marketing communications agency Plum Ideas welcomed Dudley South MP Mike Wood to its premises to discuss future plans as the business celebrates its 25th anniversary.

The visit, which took place at Plum Ideas’ offices at the Glass Museum in Stourbridge, on Monday (September 25) allowed the team at the creative agency to share their success story and growth projections with Mr Wood.

During the visit, Director Brendan O’Dea gave Mr Wood an overview of the business, including client work highlights and the plans for future success, as well as introducing the MP to colleagues to find out more about the company’s progress.

The Stourbridge-based agency is proud to work with well-known brands such as NIVEA, Golden Wonder, Kenco, Weetabix, Ryvita and Tayto Group.

Since its launch in September 1998, its focused, passionate and creative team has brought brands to life through outstanding communications for local, national and international clients of varying sizes and across many sectors.

Mr Wood heard about the agency’s innovative work with the Energy Saving Trust to scope, brand and develop the Energy Advice app. The unique app is being used by energy suppliers, local authorities and network providers to help 5 million households achieve potential savings in excess of £50m by following simple energy advice hints and tips.

Plum Ideas also shared with Mr Wood some of the campaigns they are working on locally, including the re-creation of historic collection pieces for the Black Country Living Museum’s new 1940’s to 1960’s high street. The creative team developed authentic-looking packaging, signage, posters and leaflets from the era to go on display at the latest museum exhibit.

Mr Wood commented: “It really has been great to visit Plum Ideas and to congratulate this fantastic, local business on their 25th birthday.

“I have been really impressed to see and hear about some of the creative projects they’ve worked on – ranging from projects for big global brands, to more national and local campaigns and creating apps to help people save money on their energy bills.

“Businesses like Plum Ideas can have a really big impact for other businesses and for consumers, and it’s great that they are doing that while employing local people from their base here in Wordsley.”

Brendan O’Dea added: “Our 25th anniversary is an incredible milestone for us and testament to the exceptional innovation and creativity of the team. It was great to be able to speak to Mr Wood about our journey so far.

“Since day one, we have worked extremely hard to establish strong, personal relationships with all our business partners, and as a result, many of them have been working with us for years including some who have been with us since the very start.

“We continue to pride ourselves on being a Black Country business and it was great to speak to Mr Wood about our exciting plans going into our next 25 years.”
