The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Al Garthwaite, opening Guiseley Manor with the New Care team

The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Al Garthwaite, has officially opened Guiseley Manor, New Care’s second care home in Yorkshire.

Located on Otley Road, the £12 million state-of-the-art care facility will offer exceptional residential, dementia and 24 hour nursing care services.

The Lord Mayor was invited by award-winning care home operator New Care to cut a red ribbon to declare the home officially open and enjoy a guided tour of the new facility.

Councillor Al Garthwaite also met key members of the New Care team, including staff from Guiseley Manor, and learnt more about the company and the excellent care homes it designs and delivers.

Working closely with the local authority, Guiseley Manor has been expertly designed by both architect and clinical lead to ensure it delivers exceptional care from a high quality new build property that combines style and function to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable home-from-home for residents.

Featuring 74 fully furnished bedrooms, each with a private en suite wet room, plus a selection of communal lounges, reading rooms and dining rooms, spa-assisted bathrooms, a nail bar, hair salon and access to landscaped communal gardens and terraces, Guiseley Manor provides a stunning living environment for its residents who enjoy person-centred individual care, freshly prepared nutritious meals and a daily programme of wellbeing activites.

Commenting on the opening The Lord Mayor of Leeds, Cllr Al Garthwaite, said: “I was extremely impressed with the facilities on offer at Guiseley Manor. They have clearly given it a lot of thought, offering their residents a high standard of care.  The gardens are superb and will provide a welcoming environment for all.”

Commissioning director at New Care, Dawn Collett, added: “It was a pleasure to welcome the Lord Mayor to Guiseley Manor as our guest of honour and we’re delighted she was able to officially declare the care home open.  It was wonderful talking to her and her consort, as well as seeing her meet some of the first residents.”

Now open and welcoming its first residents, Guiseley Manor is recruiting locally with approximately 100 jobs expected to be created locally over the next 12 months in multiple roles including nurses, carers, hospitality, housekeeping, wellbeing and activities, maintenance and catering.

Guiseley Manor perfectly complements New Care’s first care facility in the locality, Adel Manor also on Otley Road, which opened last year.

Part of the McGoff Group, New Care is one of the UK’s leading care home providers.  Its portfolio of purpose-built ‘new generation’ care centres is fast gaining an enviable reputation for outstanding care that is second to none.
