A primary school in Wynyard has received high-vis vests from a local housebuilder to promote the safety first message to its pupils.

Barratt Developments North East, which includes Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes and is building the Highgrove at Wynyard Park development, donated 30 high vis-vests to a class at Wynyard Primary School so that its pupils can be easily seen on school trips.

Bekki, a Sales Adviser at Highgrove at Wynyard Park, visited the pupils in her own high-vis vest which demonstrated its real-life use and encouraged the children to think about putting their safety first, like Bekki when on site.

On the donation, Charlotte McCabe, Headteacher at Wynyard Primary School said: “We’re grateful to Barratt Developments for its kind donation of the high-vis vests, which will certainly come in handy when we take our pupils on educational trips.”

Bekki Cox, Sales Adviser at Highgrove at Wynyard Park commented: “It was great to see the children donning their high-vis vests and understand the importance of road safety. At Barratt, we take safety on site very seriously, and as we build more communities across the North East, we’re committed to helping children stay safe, particularly on the roads.”
