Votes from web developers have seen Umbraco win 5 CMS Critic Awards

Open-source content management system (CMS) company, Umbraco, has announced that user reviews have seen the CMS win five categories of the 12th annual CMS Critic People’s Choice Awards.

CMS Critic is the leading online publication covering news, analysis, and expert users’ views on content management systems. This year thousands of readers cast their votes on their favourite CMS platforms in each category of the CMS Critic People’s Choice Awards.

Umbraco has a highly-engaged, open-source community of almost quarter of a million developers and contributors, and 1,500 digital agency partners, who have built more than a million websites on the platform over the past two decades.

Over the past year, Umbraco has incorporated headless functionality within its core CMS, to support omni-channel functionality. The company has also made new ecommerce, user interface and workflow tools available to website developers. In addition, many prominent technology partners have added ready-made packages to the Umbraco Marketplace, to enable seamless API-based integrations that extend the core CMS functionality for enterprise clients.

Umbraco was voted the best CMS in 5 categories:

  • Best enterprise CMS
  • Best headless CMS
  • Best composable solution
  • Best digital experience platform (DXP)
  • Best AI solution in a CMS or DXP

In particular, CMS Critic highlighted users’ appreciation for Umbraco’s headless CMS, which supports brands’ omnichannel strategies by decoupling backend functionality from user interfaces, allowing the same content to be delivered to mobiles, desktops, kiosks and smart speakers. Users also praised Umbraco’s composable architecture, which enables an array of AI plugins and integrations to the Umbraco CMS.

Filip Bech-Larsen, CTO, Umbraco, commented, “It’s really rewarding to get this recognition from users and know that we’re helping people to do their best work. We have worked hard to provide developers with the flexibility to pick and mix from the tech stack, allowing them to build how they want to build, so we’re particularly happy to win Best headless CMS and Best Composable Solution. We’ve also focused on delivering smooth integrations, so that our digital agency partners can use the software elements that meet business requirements and deliver ROI for their enterprise customers.”

Javier Miranda, COO, Umbraco, added, “These accolades are a testament to our innovation, robust community support, and commitment to excellence. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who voted for us, reinforcing the strength of our community.”
