Nicky Story

Swinton-based entrepreneur Nicky Story has launched an online campaign to help budding entrepreneurs, with a series of videos sharing his personal experiences and business advice. To kick-off this new campaign Nicky is giving away a business start-up package worth £10,000 which includes a new website, stock, bespoke branding and 1-1 personal mentoring with Nicky.

In the videos, Nicky gives candid accounts of his experiences, sharing exclusive knowledge including how he turned £10,000 savings into a £15,000,000 business over four years; what it’s like to employ 120 staff in your twenties and the harsh realities of failed businesses before finding success. This video content is free to access and available across Nicky Story’s Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn pages.

The campaign aims to inspire and help other young people to set up and grow businesses, launching on the back of several successful initiatives led by Nicky to support people wanting to increase their income. In April, Nicky pledged £100,000 of business start-up kits, giving away thousands, with 66% of recipients going on to start their own business as a result of the giveaway. Now, entrepreneurs who access the new video materials have the chance to win the start-up package worth £10,000. Entry instructions can be found on Nicky Story’s social media channels.

Says Nicky: “In this latest lockdown what our area needs now more than ever is more enterprise and through this £10,000 giveaway and by sharing my experiences I can help people to take the leap and get started. I am passionate about building a community of successful new businesses within our local community. I think it’s important to show how we’ve achieved such success in a short period of time, but also talk about mistakes I’ve made and what I’ve learned from them in the hope that someone else can benefit from my experiences.”

Nicky set up Supplies for Candles in 2016, aged 24, and recently-acquired Devon-based cosmetic supplies company The Soap Kitchen, with the group projected to turn over £15,000,000 this year. The value of the start-up support giveaway is significant as Nicky started his business with £10,000 back in 2016.
