Worcestershire creative and marketing agency, Citizen, has launched an initiative to support local businesses with their marketing efforts as they get back on their feet post-pandemic.

The ‘Citizen Academy’ provides firms with budget friendly access to the agency’s expertise and guidance on best practice. For £150 per month, members of the academy will receive wide spanning support including:

  • A 30-minute ‘discovery’ call with CIM accredited marketing account managers
  • One hour of 1-2-1 support with a member of the Citizen team
  • Invitation to exclusive Citizen marketing talks and workshops
  • Access to an online Citizen Academy ‘Virtual Campus’ with downloadable templates and resources
  • Members will also receive a discounted Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) membership, enabling them to become part of a community of marketers and access practical career advice.

The launch of the Citizen Academy comes after the agency received unprecedented demand for marketing support from local businesses having been awarded a tender by Worcestershire Business Central to offer firms across the region free advice and assistance.

Charlotte Holmes, client services director at Citizen, said: “After winning the Worcestershire Business Central tender earlier this year, we were inundated with requests from local firms looking to put an effective marketing strategy in place to help their businesses bounce back.

“We wanted to find a way to fulfil this demand and support the Worcestershire business community and, eventually, the idea to launch our own marketing academy was born.

“The Citizen Academy will provide tailored marketing advice and resources at a heavily discounted rate to help local companies succeed. We know most small business owners are not scared to work hard and do what they need to do to survive and thrive – they just need the knowledge and game plan to follow – and this is what we plan to arm them with.

“We look forward to bringing our first Academy members on board and seeing them put the knowledge, understanding and skills they gain into practice.”

The Citizen team has more than 30 years of experience and expertise in all aspects of marketing and has worked with both global FTSE 100 companies such as BT, EE and Europcar, as well as local firms and charities including Wyre Forest District Council and Bewdley Museum.
