Made in Hackney launched a crowdfunding campaign with the aim of raising £90,000, and with the campaign currently standing at £79250, the Arancini Brothers founders say they want to help the charity get closer to their goal.
Big Dave from Arancini Brothers said, “We wanted to do something to help, so we started volunteering with made in Hackney. Over the last month, we’ve seen first hand how much the meals have been helping locals. Now that we’re looking at reopening, we wondered how we could help financially – so we came up with the lockdown home risotto ball kit.” Customers can now order a kit to make their favourite vegan and gluten free risotto balls at home.
Proceeds from the sale of these home kits will go to London charity Made in Hackney, who are raising money to serve 34,000 meals – or 500 meals per day for the next three months – to Londoners in need during the coronavirus pandemic.
Customers interested in supporting Arancini Brothers and Made in Hackney can purchase a vegan risotto ball kit through the Arancini Brothers website. Each kit sold will allow Made in Hackney to serve another meal to a Londoner in need; proceeds will also go towards supporting the charity, whose funding has taken a hit since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.
