Huddersfield BID (Business Improvement District) are continuing to support businesses in the town centre with free workplace training.  In order to upskill employees with essential workplace skills, they are offering a further three courses throughout the year after completing the first one in First Aid. These are:

Level 2 Award in Fire and Safety (RQF) on March 20th – fire safety in the workplace is mandatory training with regards to health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training.

Workplace Health and Safety on August 21st – This Level 2 accredited, nationally recognised qualification is extremely useful for employees of all levels but is designed particularly for those who may be carrying out a health & safety representative role within their organisation, or who are looking to progress into a supervisory position or further training.

Food Hygiene course on November 20th – This Level 2 accredited, nationally recognised qualification is an excellent introduction to food safety in catering and will benefit all employees at all levels. It covers various topics to ensure that learners understand relevant legislation, their responsibilities in terms of keeping work areas clean and hygienic and keeping food safety.  Successful candidates recieve a certificate – valid for 3 years

This training is part of BID’s commitment to support town centre businesses and help them deal with the pressures of increased running costs during the cost-of-living crisis.

Huddersfield BID (Business Improvement District) was created by Huddersfield businesses in 2019. One of their key four objectives is to ‘encourage the growth, development and investment of businesses and organisations which support the development of Huddersfield’s identity.’

The courses are fully funded for levy paying businesses, and training will be provided by Huddersfield Based, Dak Training in the BID’s office on Market Avenue in Huddersfield.
