A Leamington local who started her career in hotels at the town’s Mallory Court Hotel and Spa has returned in the top job after being appointed as its new General Manager.

Josefine Blomqvist began her career in hotels at the Harbury Lane venue – which is owned by The Eden Hotel Collection – in 2005 when she helped launch its 2AA Rosette restaurant The Brasserie, and then led on the event facilities of the Knights Suite.

She has since worked her way up the ladder at The Eden Hotel Collection with her latest promotion seeing her take the reins at Mallory Court after a decade as General Manager at sister hotel The Arden Hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon.

Originally from Sweden, Josefine has lived in Leamington Spa with her partner for almost two decades and said she is relishing the opportunity to ‘return home’ to a place which holds so many special memories.

The 46-year-old said: “I’m thrilled to be back at Mallory Court.

“Mallory Court is a hugely well-known and respected country house hotel and there’s been tremendous work since I was last here, not least with the launch of Elan Spa which is a popular draw not only for the hotel but also the town and wider region.

“I am really keen to continue to build on Mallory’s excellent reputation and I am also excited to develop the food offering, encouraging local residents to come and try us.

“Additionally, I am looking at ways to engage more with the local community as well as furthering the good work on our sustainability practices.”

Mallory Court provides 43 bedrooms in the beautifully grand Lutyens-style manor house, which is set in 10 acres of quintessentially English gardens.

It has been awarded four Red Stars from the AA and offers fine dining at the 3AA Rosette restaurant The Dining Room and its 2AA Rosette sister restaurant The Brasserie.

It also provides the ultimate relaxation at the Elan Spa, which opened in 2017 following a £6 million investment project and was recently awarded 5 Bubbles from The Good Spa Guide.

Josefine brings with her more than 25 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.

Other roles at The Eden Hotel Collection have seen her work as Group Operations Manager, Deputy General Manager at Mallory Court, and General Manager at Buckland Tout-Saints.

Mark Chambers, Group Managing Director, said: “Mallory Court is the jewel in Leamington’s crown and we are thrilled to have someone of Josefine’s experience and enthusiasm to build on its high standards and reputation.

“We are truly committed to providing pathways to progression at The Eden Hotel Collection and Josefine is a terrific example of someone who has grasped those opportunities with both hands.”
