Organisers of next month’s UK Construction Week London have announced a series of major new exclusive partnerships with international trade bodies – several of whom will be exhibiting in the UK for the first time.

UKCW London, which returns to London’s ExCeL from May 7th to 9th, will feature its biggest ever display of international pavilions from China, Turkey, Italy, Poland, and Sicily.

A major coup for UKCW London is the new Sicilian Pavilion, which will feature 16 high-end interiors companies, many of which are family-owned, who will be showcasing a range of products including marble surfaces, decorative paints, flooring, and windows. The pavilion will also feature a Sicily-themed hospitality area with coffee and traditional pastries.

Featured companies include:

  • Nikkolor Italia – founded in 2006 by Salvo Caniglia and Tiziana Ierna, Nikkolor is a renowned manufacturer of floor and wall coverings for interior and exterior architecture and design.
  • Marco Arena Design – a leading name in high-quality furniture for more than 20 years, the company is famous for its high quality ‘made in Italy’ products.
  • Pavimento Fogazza – established in 1905, Fogazza is a manufacturer of Italian floor and wall tiles made of graniglia and cement. The products, all made in Italy, use artisanal and industrial methods which combine tradition and innovation.
  • Colorificio Atria – a leading company in the paint market, it produces high quality products for both industry and construction – ‘to colour, cover, decorate, protect and preserve any support or material in a sustainable way’. The company has 1,650 authorised dealers both in Italy and across the world.
  • Settipani Srl – Settipani has been a leading company in the marble production sector since 1967.
Romano Pavimenti – founded in 1899 by Santo Romano, who started a small artisan workshop producing cement tiles. The company is now in its fourth generation of the family, with the same passion and artisanal quality as 125 years ago.

A spokesperson for the Assessorato Attività Produttive di Sicilia, commented: “We have decided to exhibit at UK Construction Week because Great Britain, and London in particular, are important markets for Sicilian companies.

“Sicily has such a great reputation in interior design because products derive from an ancient tradition, handed down through several generations, and this continuing tradition maintains the high quality of the products.

“Sicilian marble is appreciated throughout the world, not only for its natural beauty, but also for its characteristics which allow it to be widely used in the building and construction sector.”

Sam Patel, Divisional Director – Construction, commented: “You will not find this breadth of international exhibitors at any other UK construction event, and many of the companies attending next month have never traded in the UK, let alone exhibited here, so it’s a real coup for us.

“We want UK Construction Week to be a truly global event, and this is just the beginning.”

UKCW London has announced a host of new features for 2024, including the debut of a new Live Demo Theatre; Skills and Training Hub; a construction-specific Recruitment Zone; new C-Suite Summits; a ‘Gumball Rally’ which finishes at UKCW London.

The award-winning show is once again co-located with Concrete Expo and The Offsite Show, as well as the UK’s premier event for the self-build sector, Grand Designs Live.

Registration for UKCW London is now live (and free) through the new-look website.

The London show is complemented by its sister event, UKCW Birmingham, which takes place at the NEC from October 1-3.
