Philip Dubery, Site Manager at Saxon Brook

Two developments in the South West have been named winners in a prestigious national competition.

Saxon Brook, in Exeter, and Blundell’s Grange, in Tiverton, have both been crowned winners in the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) National Site Awards 2024.

The awards are one way in which the Considerate Constructors Scheme supports and drives positive change in the construction industry by recognising excellence in considerate construction among sites, organisations and individuals.

Both developments were commended for the efforts that constructors have made to be considerate neighbours to those already living in the area, taking extra measures to be respectful to the public, the workforce and the environment.

Taking home the impressive Bronze award, Saxon Brook was applauded for the high levels of organisation and management within the team, which have been evident from the first phase of building through to the final. The team was also praised for building lasting connections within the community.

Commenting on the win, Philip Dubery, Site Manager at Saxon Brook, said: “We’re thrilled to have been awarded the Bronze award at this year’s CCS awards – it’s a true testament to the hard work of each and every member of the team!

“I’ve worked at Redrow for the past 10 years and have been fortunate to work as the site manager here at Saxon Brook for just over two of these – it’s incredibly rewarding knowing we’re giving customers the keys to the highest quality homes we can.”

Over at Blundell’s Grange, the team are also celebrating a well-earned Bronze win, with strong communication being recognised as a key influence to the development’s success, including weekly bulletins distributed throughout the team.

Grant Tayler, Site Manager at Blundell’s Grange, said: “I’ve been managing Blundell’s Grange since September 2022 when work was just starting on the site – it’s incredibly rewarding to be recognised for our dedication so far.

“There’s nothing quite like turning up to an empty field and leaving behind an entire community where lives are lived and family memories are being made – I’m confident this won’t be our last award win.”

Sian Smith, Sales Director for Redrow South West, added: “Here at Redrow South West, we have an ongoing commitment to foster thriving communities right from the beginning.

“It’s incredibly important to us that we offer the highest quality homes – and that includes being as considerate and respectful as possible. Our team members go above and beyond to distinguish the Redrow difference, and it’s fantastic to see this recognised in not one but two of our developments.

“I’d like to extend a huge congratulations to the teams for their efforts and we welcome prospective buyers to get in touch soon to avoid missing out on what are already proving to be incredibly popular developments!”
