Just last month, it was revealed that the first-ever Northern Fashion Week (NFW) will be coming to Manchester next summer. Now, further details of the main three-day event are announced. Taking place at Manchester Central from 7-9 July 2022, tickets for the inaugural event are on sale now.

With a brand-new event set to take the North by storm, Northern Fashion Week is curated by the team behind New Talent Fashion and promises to champion northern talent and develop northern industry, showcasing the most exciting emerging and established designers and brands in the fashion world, with catwalks, talks, networking, exhibits, panels, the Northern Fashion Week Awards and more. What is Northern Fashion Week and why is it happening?

Northern Fashion Week is a six-day event, offering a platform for up-and-coming designers in the UK’s North (and regions), championing other creative talent emerging from Northern educational institutes and cities, as well as showcasing established and game-changing organisations in the fashion, creative and media landscape. The event aims to be accessible for all industry creatives, fashion lovers, and anyone interested in the ever-evolving fashion business.

It’s taking place to put an essential spotlight on the vast opportunities and exciting talent coming through in the North of England. The event aims to inspire the next generation of talent and young professionals who are so critical to the industry’s progression. Through galvanising the industry and facilitating connections between fashion professionals, NFW will create an immersive environment for art, culture and heritage sectors to collide, bringing together a range of businesses with diversity and inclusivity at the heart of their mission.

What guests can expect …

Guests can expect everything from catwalks, talks, networking, exhibits, panels, the very first Northern Fashion Week Awards, and much more over the three days at Manchester Central. There’ll be plenty to feast your eyes on, in what’s set to be an experience to enrich, create positive change, inspire and essentially, bring “fashion back to the North”.

With education at its heart, NFW will also be working alongside various local university institutes and regional educational providers to support their growth and development, facilitating a sustainable future for the British fashion industry. Expect to see emerging and exciting fashion talent exhibiting, taking part in panels, and showcasing their work at the event at Manchester Central.

As well as the main event, on 4-6 July additional offsite breakout events including live music, showcases and more, are scheduled for earlier in the week in major northern cities including Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester.
