Guy Dunmow, Europa Road

European road freight specialist Europa Road in the continent has appointed Guy Dunmow to the role of National Full Load Sales Manager.

With more than 30 years’ experience working for Europa, Guy will lead the full load unaccompanied export-to-continent teams, driving business development across Luxembourg, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and France.

Europa Road is part of ambitious independent operator Europa Worldwide Group and has expanded from being one of the first to establish express services into mainland Europe, to being a leader in groupage, part load and full load transport between the UK and EU. The firm has an established presence in Benelux with its Belgium and Netherlands offices.

Guy, who helped launch Europa Road in Rotterdam from a standing start as Branch Manager, has successfully grown its customer base and responded to their needs for market-leading full load, part load and groupage road freight between the Netherlands and the UK. In his new role, he will support UK exporters who want to book unaccompanied full load services at competitive rates to France, Benelux and the Ruhr region of Germany.

Guy said: “Currently, we live in a climate where consumer order volumes have decreased due to rising costs. Despite this, the demand for seamless, efficient deliveries persists. According to the British Government, 1.18 million trips were made by unaccompanied trailers in 2023, up four per cent compared to the last 12 months. As a market is growing in popularity, we are keen to promote these services, offering flexible full load options for our customers.”

Unaccompanied services are not new to the market but, as the economic landscape across Europe continues to put pressure on businesses’ wallets, it is becoming increasingly necessary for more economically feasible route options for UK exporters.

Guy continues: “Not only do unaccompanied export-to-continent services free up time that would be spent driving, but they can also reduce operational costs and minimise the risk of potential delays during peaks. As an option with many benefits, we’re looking forward to supporting British businesses in achieving a seamless movement of goods into the Benelux, Rurh and French regions.”

Carlo Turner, Non-Network and Continent Director for Europa Road said: “Guy has been instrumental in our growth over the years, leading our expansion into central Europe and building new and existing relationships with exporters on both sides of the channel.

“Having been an integral team player for Europa during a period of expansion, Guy has garnered a great deal of knowledge about market fluctuations and the innovation needed to solve any challenges. Therefore, he is our ‘Go-To Guy’ for expertise on unaccompanied export-to-continent services for our current and prospective clientele.

Guy’s appointment marks the next step in Europa Road’s innovative expansion. It follows a successful first year of the company’s branch in Rotterdam, now headed up by Dennis Henderson, and the launch of Europa Flow into the Benelux region in 2023. The service, available in the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands, uses DDP incoterms to take care of customs declarations and duty requirements prior to delivery, easing complex administration and improving transit times.
