Square launches AI in Ireland: Turning ‘Data’ into ‘Decisions’ for SMEs.

Square AI launches in Ireland

Square has launched a conversational AI assistant for Irish businesses, targeting the 60% of SMEs who still rely on “gut instinct” to make decisions. The new tool, Square AI, integrates directly into the dashboard, allowing sellers to query sales data, inventory, and customer trends in plain English.

It launches alongside two operational updates: Square Stream (a delivery integration) and an upgraded Square Register hardware unit.

According to Square’s research, 92% of Irish owners say data would boost their confidence, but manual analysis is too time-consuming.
74% believe AI could “supercharge” their instincts.

Shane Kelly, owner of Tir Deli in Dublin, has been testing the system. “High-quality, locally sourced ingredients are core to our offering, but they come at a premium,” says Kelly. “I’m using Square AI for production forecasting to reduce waste. 90% of our sales are made in the 90-minute lunch rush, so efficiency is critical.”

“Irish business owners are time-poor,” added John O’Beirne, CEO of Square International. “They need practical tools that remove complexity. Square AI helps businesses make sense of their data, giving them time back to focus on customers.”
