A leading Midlands accountancy firm has teamed up with Coventry University to uncover support needed by businesses as they recover from Covid-19.

Burgis & Bullock has joined forces with the University to work on new research into the help businesses will be looking for over the coming months.

The accountancy firm, which has offices in Leamington, Nuneaton, Rugby and Stratford-upon-Avon, has been working closely with small to medium sized firms throughout the pandemic.

Now the firm has launched a survey to gain a deeper understanding of the needs and expectations of business owners.

The survey will shape the content of an upcoming programme of free events and advice to support businesses and recovery strategies.

Sean Farnell, a partner at Burgis & Bullock, said: “Over the course of the pandemic we have been in constant contact with businesses of all shapes and sizes and the support they require has changed on an almost weekly basis.

“This research project will help us to better understand the business landscape across the region.

“To be working with a respected institution like Coventry University on this project is fantastic and we hope to be able to capture a good snapshot of the help and advice that business owners need in these difficult times.

“The survey is 100 per cent anonymous and we just ask that those who complete it give themselves a reference number for analysis purposes.

“We really appreciate businesses finding the time to do this and would ask if they can then share with their colleagues and wider network, as the higher the value of the data, the more detail we will have on the support that is needed the most.”

It takes five minutes to complete and research will be on-going until a sufficient set of data has been gathered.

Kai Peters, Pro-Vice-Chancellor of Business and Law, said: “We are pleased to be able to support businesses in the West Midlands in navigating the economics and social challenges of Covid-19.

“As a founding member of the UK’s Small Business Charter, Coventry University staff and students take pride in helping local businesses and in supporting our community.”
