Coventry Couple Bring Global Maths-only Tutoring Approach to Local High Street
A local couple is to open a new maths learning centre on Daventry Road, Coventry this month. Mathnasium, is a franchised leader in maths only education with centres across the globe. The new Coventry centre welcomed children from 19 September for free assessments, and will open for one-to-one tuition from 28 September to help them develop skills and confidence in maths.
Kiran Kaur, Owner and Centre Manager who now runs Mathnasium Coventry with the help of her husband Sandeep confirmed; “As a former secondary school teacher, I’ve listened to local parents’ concerns for ten years. If their children struggle at school, they often feel alone. While teachers do a superb job, resources for additional support are naturally limited and as a result, children can fall behind.
“When it comes to maths, it’s common for pupils to find fundamental concepts like fractions, algebra and geometry challenging, but the right face-to-face tuition can make a huge difference. At our new specialist maths learning centre, we’ll assess each child to understand their individual strengths and any gaps in their knowledge, before creating a bespoke learning plan to help them build their skills, understanding and confidence in maths. We meet them where they are, whether they need to catch up, keep pace or get ahead.
“Mathnasium is different because we teach maths for understanding, rather than simply teaching children to memorise methods and processes. Through the Mathnasium MethodTM, each child follows a bespoke learning plan that builds strong mathematical foundations and develops their understanding step by step. As their understanding grows, so does their confidence, problem solving and critical thinking skills. In fact, 94% of parents across Mathnasium centres report an improvement in their child’s maths skills and understanding.”
Mathnasium Coventry is located at 141 Daventry Road, Coventry. On Saturday 26 September, there will be a fun kids open event held between 12-2pm at Café Locco next door. Kiran Kaur continues: “We have already been made to feel incredibly welcome by other local businesses and for this special event we will be supplying goodie bags on our stall, and there will be the chance for parents to come and chat to some of our instructors. It’s a huge step for us to launch a new business and we are really looking forward to supporting our community and helping local students succeed in developing their maths skills.”
Kiran Kaur is a qualified teacher and is passionate about helping students build confidence and making maths feel less intimidating. Kiran’s husband Sandeep has lived in Coventry his whole life and has a background in banking and finance. He will support the new enterprise, along with a team of experienced instructors.
Mathnasium provides bespoke maths tuition for children of all abilities. Programmes are built around the Mathnasium Method™, a proven approach that focuses on developing deep understanding rather than memorisation, helping students strengthen core skills and build long-term confidence in maths.
