Europa Road in Bristol, which provides European road transport solutions, is celebrating a record-breaking first half of the year, supporting economic success across the Southwest region.

The most recent Government findings show that the Southwest was one of only three UK regions to experience an increase in exports in the 12 months ending December 2024.

Building on this positive trading landscape is Europa Road, part of one of Britain’s largest independent logistics providers, Europa Worldwide Group, with a legacy spanning three decades in Bristol. As one of the operator’s most successful branches, out of its 16 other dedicated local sites across the UK and Ireland, the Bristol branch achieved a 300 per cent increase in consignments of goods, when compared to 2023.

The local team supports businesses across the region, from Gloucester and Swindon down to Cornwall, trade with key EU markets – particularly Germany, France and Ireland. Meeting regional demand, the team is guaranteeing fast and reliable transit times and competitive pricing.

Ben Geddis, Bristol Branch Manager, comments: “Against a very challenging economic environment, it’s reassuring to see the positive trading landscape across the Southwest. One of our key markets is Ireland and we’ve seen exports more than double compared to the same period last year. This highlights the local demand for Ireland-bound road freight solutions, which is why we launched daily services to Belfast and Dublin, reducing transit times, and offering delivery windows of 2-3 days.”

“For our customers in the EU, we have tackled the challenges of Brexit with our Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) service, Europa Flow, which provides a pre-Brexit service for European shipments, guaranteeing quicker transit times, no delays and zero unexpected fees.”

Bristol stands out as one of the most strategically significant logistics hotspots in the UK due to its multimodal transport links, growing infrastructure and its supportive business environment. Its excellent road infrastructure provides the perfect location for the Europa Road team.

Ben continues: “We see first-hand the value of our local service to customers across the region. We prioritise our on-boarding process to ensure each customer’s needs are understood and met from the get-go. We’re fortunate to have a consistent team, which is certainly a leading contributor to our success.

“Not only are our Bristol team achieving excellent exports, the region more generally is projected an average annual Gross Value Added (GVA) growth of 1.9 per cent between 2024 and 2027, which is one of the highest among UK regions, according to Ernst & Young’s updated Regional Economic Forecast.

“Supporting local growth, our dedicated team of 15 has experienced two key senior staff promotions. As we develop our senior leadership, we’re focused on creating reliable internal structures across our sales and customer service departments to ensure our customers receive clear communication, regular contact and an exceptional quality of service across the board.”

The operator supports customers across several industries, with most being in manufacturing – specifically car parts and medical equipment.

Ben concluded: “From our central base in Bristol, we’re ideally placed to reach businesses across the Southwest. While the country may face uncertain economic times, we’re pleased to see the positive outlook for our region, and we hope to continue our positive trajectory and support local importers and exporters. Through regular face-to-face meetings, we focus on maintaining strong connections.”

Adrian Redmile, Branch and Sales Director at Europa Worldwide Group, commented: “From the very beginning it’s been our aspiration to build Europa into a company that is internationally recognised while providing a great local service for regional exporters. Navigating a number of global challenges, the Bristol team has continued to go from strength to strength. For our Southwest customers, our Bristol team are on hand to provide a personal approach, focused on operational quality and best-in-class customer service.”

“We recognise the importance of driving operations forward and contributing to the economy. Each of our expert local teams play a pivotal role in our wider operation, ensuring each customer receives an exceptional service. I’m delighted to see Bristol continue its positive progress from 2024 and look forward to their growth and successes in future.”
