Four of Folkstone’s coolest teachers are hitting the big time after being booked for a gig in the capital.

The King Rooks thought their first gig of the year at the Beehive was doomed but at the eleventh hour heard their London debut can go ahead on January 15.

Formed by childhood friends and now adult colleagues Jack, Matt George and Jacob the band draws on a myriad of influences from classic rock to post-punk indie and everything in between and beyond.

They said: “We’re really excited to be kicking off 2022 with our first show in London and our first show as headliners.
