Personalised medicine specialist, Fagron, has strengthened its growing UK team with a fresh hire to bring in the new year.

Shannon Douglas, 24, joins Fagron as a Digital Marketing Specialist. Originally from County Durham, Shannon stepped into the brand-new role at the Newcastle-based firm in January to help drive its marketing strategy and implement the promotion of several new and existing product lines.

Before starting her role at Fagron, Shannon began her career in 2018 at AstraZeneca as an intern where she fuelled her interest in personalised medicine. Following her four-month internship, she later took on a role at web design company MTC Media in Dundee, Scotland, where, alongside her studies, she sharpened her skills in digital marketing as a Social Media Account Manager.

After graduating with a Business Management degree in 2019, Shannon was then recruited by property powerhouse, CBRE, as a Marketing Coordinator for a shopping centre in Guildford. Ten months into the role, she was forced to leave to due relocation and, shortly afterwards, was appointed by Fagron as a Digital Marketing Specialist.

Shannon said: “I’ve always had a strong passion for personalised medicine and holistic therapies. Many of my family members either work in the medical profession or require personalised medication themselves, so this new role at Fagron really allows me to marry together two aspects of my career that I love. I’m thrilled to be part of the Fagron team and I’m looking forward to what will no doubt be an exciting year ahead.”

Dan Barton, Marketing Communication Manager at Fagron, said: “We’re incredibly happy to have Shannon join the team here at Fagron. She has an extensive background in digital marketing and her love of the products we produce makes her a perfect fit for the role. We can’t wait to see what she brings to the table and we’re looking forward to working together on some exciting new projects in 2021.”
