FI Property Group founder backs Nina’s Law campaign to support patients in hospital
FI Property Group founder and managing director, Tim Knowles, is backing a national campaign to allow disabled patients to receive extra support in hospitals, and is urging the public to sign the petition to make it law.
Mr Knowles has already donated to the Nina’s Law campaign, named after Nina Parry, a woman with multiple sclerosis (MS) from Swindon in Wiltshire who is campaigning for the new law. He has also previously purchased Nina personal equipment to assist with her condition, including a TheraMatic bed and standing wheelchair.
Currently, carers can support patients in hospital with personal and social care, including eating and communication. However, there is no legal requirement for this. Nina’s Law would require care providers to continue visiting and supporting patients in hospital.
Tim Knowles commented: “It’s a privilege to support such an important cause – carers play a vital role in supporting people when they are in hospital, helping with everyday needs such as eating and communication.
“Nina’s Law would give carers the recognition and support they need to continue providing that care when patients need it most.”
