FlyWei expands UK deployments of autonomous service robots across care, hospitality and logistics

FlyWei Professional, a UK-based robotics and automation company, is expanding the rollout of its autonomous service robots across care homes, hospitals, schools, restaurants and warehouses, as more organisations look for practical ways to improve day-to-day efficiency and strengthen service delivery.

The company’s robots are built to take on repetitive point-to-point movement inside buildings — a hidden operational drain across many sites. Whether it’s moving meals, linens, medicines, supplies, parts or stock, FlyWei says automation can reduce constant back-and-forth journeys and help teams spend more time on the work that requires people: care, customer service, supervision, and quality control.

In the care sector, FlyWei’s robots are designed to support routine delivery rounds in environments where staff time is precious and workflows must remain calm and predictable. For example, robots can assist with internal transport between kitchens, communal dining areas and staff zones, helping teams keep mealtime service flowing smoothly without disrupting residents’ routines.

In hospitals, where internal logistics plays a critical role in maintaining operational consistency, autonomous delivery can support the movement of items between service points and wards. FlyWei’s approach is focused on helping teams manage routine, repeatable journeys that can otherwise consume staff hours across long corridors and busy floors.

FlyWei is also seeing growing interest from schools, where site teams increasingly explore smart-campus operations. In this setting, robots can support controlled internal deliveries between kitchens, reception areas, administrative zones and staff spaces — helping simplify daily movement without adding pressure to already stretched teams. The company believes education environments will become an important part of the UK’s next wave of service robotics adoption as expectations rise for modern, efficient campuses.

In hospitality, FlyWei’s robots can support food-running and internal transport — reducing repeat trips between back-of-house and front-of-house during peak times. In warehousing and logistics, autonomous mobile robots can help reduce internal transport waste by moving items between storage, picking and dispatch zones, supporting a more consistent operational flow.

Mohammed Aroussi, Founder of FlyWei Professional, said: “Across the UK, different industries are facing a similar challenge: teams are under pressure, and a surprising amount of time is lost to internal movement — the constant back-and-forth that doesn’t directly add value. The future is more robotics, but the goal isn’t replacing people. It’s removing repetitive tasks so staff can focus on care, service, safety and quality.”

Aroussi added that FlyWei is focused on “real-world deployment” rather than robotics that only looks good in demos. “Robots only create value when they fit the site, integrate smoothly, and staff feel confident using them day-to-day. That’s why our rollout includes on-site integration, practical training and ongoing support — so organisations can adopt automation without disruption.”

FlyWei’s expansion is led by Aroussi, whose academic background is a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Aerospace Engineering (Autonomous Systems & Control). He also holds an invention patent in China, and says FlyWei is bringing that innovation experience into the UK to help organisations adopt AI-driven robotics in a way that is measurable, reliable and operationally realistic.

The company says its multi-sector approach reflects the fact that the underlying problem is often the same: internal logistics. Buildings are getting larger, teams are under greater time pressure, and service expectations are rising. Robots are increasingly being viewed as a practical operational tool — particularly in environments where routine delivery tasks are frequent and staff time is most valuable.

FlyWei is continuing discussions with UK operators and venues interested in pilot deployments and wider rollouts across multiple sites. The company expects demand to accelerate as organisations move from curiosity to practical implementation, and as robotics becomes a normal part of everyday operations in care, healthcare, education, hospitality and logistics.
