Leeds-based property investor and car parking operator, Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS) has secured an award-winning, luxury nail salon tenant at its prime period building on 38 Bath Street in the heart of Glasgow city centre.  Nailco Nail Bar is set to relocate its Glasow outlet and existing team to larger premises as part of its growth plans.  The move will also create circa 20 jobs for the local area.

Operating in Scotland for almost 5 years with outlets in Aberdeen and Glasgow, Nailco Nail Bar has agreed a lease on 2,670 sq ft of space on the ground floor of the Grade C listed building, moving its 15-strong Glasgow team to the central location from its original premises on Hope Street.  The nail bar, earmarked for opening in May 2022 following an extensive fit out, will include an on-site training academy for those looking to enter the industry as well as those looking to enhance their skills, as well as adding a new range of beauty services to their portfolio.

The building, which is situated at the east end of Bath Street, close to the Junction with West Nile Street, is also home to the Scotch Malt Whisky Society who operate a members’ bar, retail, tasting rooms, dining area and houses 650 bottles of society whisky from a 3,000 sq ft basement space.

A short walk from Scotland’s prime retail area on Buchanan Street which offers a wealth of shops and amenities, the building comprises basement, ground and upper floors, with the latter housing 20 Grade A apartments which are all fully let.  It benefits from access to Glasgow’s Merchant City with a plethora of bars, restaurants and cafes as well as art, culture and shopping within close proximity.

It is well connected, being close to Buchanan Bus Stations, Buchanan St Subway and Glasgow Queen Street Train Station, as well as motorway and airport connectivity.  Educational institutions including Caledonian & Strathclyde Universities along with the Glasgow School of Art and Royal Conservatoire of Scotland are nearby.

Jayd Linney, Owner, Nailco Nail Bar commented:

“We have spent 5 years in our current premises on Hope Street, but the time has come to move on. The business has grown, evolved, and managed to go from strength to strength despite the impact of the pandemic.

“The driving force behind our relocation is our brand new, fully accredited Training Academy.  We are so excited to design, create and launch a designated training space for our new students enrolling on our in-house nail and beauty courses. We are determined to make Nailco Training Academy the biggest and best training provider in Scotland.

“In addition, we are also planning to add new ‘beauty’ services to our offering, including brow treatments, lash treatments, intimate waxing and laser hair removal. Customers can expect the same ‘industrial meets clinical’ look from our new site.  Lots of white, grey and marble features with our classic stainless steel touches to tie it all together.”

Charles Newman, Associate Director, Estates at Town Centre Securities PLC (TCS) said:

“We are delighted to welcome a thriving luxury nail salon brand to our Bath Street asset and to support a young, expanding business in the heart of Glasgow City Centre.   The area is in a prime position with a high footfall, being one of the main thoroughfares to Glasgow central and benefits from a fantastic range of shops, art, culture and more, as well as the natural beauty of the open green spaces such as Glasgow Green and Kelvingrove Park.”
